This Is A Senior Client Facing Position With Other Managerial And Leadership Responsibilities Including Line Management, Vision Implementation And Mentoring.
The Account Director Leads And Directs Projects For A Number Of Different Clients Or Franchises Within Clients. Overall Responsibility And Accountability Lies With The Account Director And In Most Cases Project Delivery Will Be Delegated To Colleagues In The Account Handling And Editorial/productions Teams.
The Account Director Needs To Be A ‘thinker’ And Middle To Long:term Strategist In The Main But Must Be Wiling To Contribute To ‘day To Day’ Project Delivery If Required. There Will Also Be Additional Responsibilities Associated With New Business Prospecting, Organically From Existing Clients And Also From New Business Leads And Opportunities.
The Account Director Will Also Be Responsible For Developing Physician Continuing Medical Education (CME) And Continual Professional Develoment (CPD) Programs, This Will Involve Working Directly With The Royal Australian College Of General Practice RACGP) And Royal Australian College Of Physicians (RACP).
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WITH RESPECT TO:
: Provides top:level client contact and manages the interaction between clients and account support staff
: Will ordinarily obtain briefs for new project work although this can be delegated as appropriate.
: Provide clients with scientific and strategic support to assist them in meeting their own internal objectives
: Responsible for ensuring clients are serviced to the highest standard and projects are delivered to a standard that exceeds client expectations
New Business Development
: Account Directors are responsible for organic growth within their accounts.
: Account Directors will also contribute to winning new business and will take on the role of pitch leader as required.
: Generation of new business leads whilst not a priority for Account Directors, may also be required as a member of the new business team.
: Regular and frequent communication with prospects and clients to follow up on proposals, monitor client satisfaction and identify future opportunities
: Defining and negotiating commercial terms
: Preparing client proposals and budgets
: Agreeing and initiating invoicing schedules
: Monitoring and managing client level financial performance against budget
: Working with the Director of Medical Communication and Finance Director regarding annual budgets, phasing, month end reporting and regular re:forecasting
QUALIFICATION AND BACKGROUND
: Post graduate qualification (PhD, MSc) an advantage
: 3:5 years agency or healthcare industry experience
: Professional and well:presented and able to work effectively with influential physicians
: Highly developed interpersonal / communication skills
: Budgeting and financial skills
: Experience of leading, motivating and developing a growing team within a fast:paced environment
: Decision:making, planning, and organisational ability
: Negotiation skills
: Persuasive, supportive and positive nature
: Inspire confidence in clients and colleagues
: Skilled in analysing and interpreting clients needs and developing creative and revenue generating solutions
: Able to co:ordinate and manage free:lance resources as and when required.
