The Compensation function is part of our Total Rewards team and supports the organizations business strategy ensuring the attraction and retention of key resources for the company and rewarding competitively to motivate employees in Canada and the U.S.
The Compensation Analyst is a key role in our Total Rewards team. The Compensation Analyst supports the design, implementation, communication and administration of compensation programs that support Purolator’s strategic objectives. This position may be relied upon to lead small to medium sized projects.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Base Salary Administration and Day:to:Day Compensation Function Activities
:Utilizes compensation expertise and HR experience to support the management of Purolators compensation structures with a focus on a pay for performance philosophy. Participates in compensation salary structure administration and analysis.
:Participates in various salary and salary planning surveys for Canada and the U.S. Maintains survey data results. Monitors the market and best practices. Conducts ad hoc market pricing reviews and analysis.
:Supports the development and implementation of Compensation communications including relevant program launch materials, management presentations, and employee communications. Assists in developing and implementing education/awareness, training, or job aids to support the companys compensation activities.
:Participates in company projects and corporate HR initiatives.
:Provides analysis, consultation, and recommendations to corporate and field colleagues and clients.
:Administers the company’s Vehicle Allowance Programs including annual audits and Purolator’s Scholarship Program.
Job Evaluation and Maintenance
:Participates in the job evaluation process for non:union jobs in the company. Maintains and updates the position description questionnaire database and job evaluation records.
:Supports the management of the companys job structures. Helps manage the complete job update process and works closely with the SAP business support team to implement changes in SAP; Helps to maintain all records, translation, HR Toolkit updates, salary admin structure updates; works with SAP Business support team to ensure the proper integration of jobs/positions/org units/cost centers.
Incentive Plan Design and Implementation
:Participates in the development and design of incentive programs, including Annual Incentive Plan, Long Term Incentive Plan and Sales Incentive Plans.
:Provides project support, record:keeping, calculations for the annual salary and bonus process for all non:union employees (approx. 2000 in Canada and U.S.). Maintains calculations, lookups, data tables to feed into calculations, merit modeler, interpolation tool for AIP payouts, etc.
Systems and Compensation Processes (ie. HRIS:SAP, other HR systems)
:Research best practices on compensation systems offerings. Participate in systems implementations related to compensation.
:Leverage technology to streamline program administration.
:Document, review and revise compensation processes and continuously improve for greater efficiency and customer satisfaction.
:Responsible for developing and maintaining record:keeping/costing/modeling/reporting tools and various calculators for compensation activities
:Assists with Executive Compensation and record:keeping and preparation of Board of Directors presentations and materials.
:Management of department files and the Compensation email inbox
:Administers the department budget and processes expenses/invoices
:Other administrative support as needed
