PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The system administrator will focus on continuously improving and maintaining our environment setup, code deployment practices, performance monitoring, automated testing framework as well as documenting operational processes and best practices.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Strong communication, technical and analytical skills. Solid technical foundation that can also focus on optimizing processes and procedures.
Contribute to the standardization and definition of operational procedures and best practices.
Support the stability and security of a system.
The ability to identify and understand system errors and performance issues. Can help solve issues around security, application tuning, operating systems, networking, server administration, storage, load balancing and connectivity.
Enjoys working as part of a group and is committed to the success of the overall team.
Comfortable working in a virtual team setup.
Experience in configuring, managing, tuning and deploying an n:tier web application stack
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in software development or system administration.
Solid understanding of server architectures, operating systems and application resource utilization.
Experience working with relational databases such as HANA, mongoDB, and MySQL.
Good understanding of scripting languages.
Knowledge of agile processes, code management and deployment tools like Ant, Maven, SVN, GIT, Jenkins.
Knowledge and experience with system monitoring tools.
