Deloittes National Office Services group is looking for high performing Audit practitioners to help execute upon its 2020 Vision and Quality initiatives.
The Audit Excellence Group (AEG) is a new group within Deloittes National Office team that is dedicated to helping Deloittes audit professionals address the complexities of providing Assurance and Advisory Services to a wide variety of Reporting Issuers and Related Entities (RIRE) business organizations within Canada.
The AEG has immediate openings for a number of experienced Manager or Senior Manager level resources. The professional will assist the AEG to support various audit and assurance related activities. This involves, amongst other things, becoming an engagement quality control review assistant working under the direction of the regional PPD and working with a team of dedicated assurance professionals to help equip other practitioners in the Canadian Audit Public practice to conduct effective and efficient financial statement audits and other assurance engagements. In this role you will also be part of the National audit expert network. The AEG is organized into three regions West, Central and East. Given our current requirements, candidates will be assigned to the East and will be located in either Montreal or Quebec City.
As an important member of the AEG you will:
:Work in a fast growing and challenging environment with like:minded people who are eminent in their respective areas of technical expertise
:Become an engagement quality control review assistant on RI engagements, and may become an engagement quality control reviewer on certain RE engagements
:Be involved in pre:archive and other file reviews of Audit Public engagements across Canada. This may also involve DTTL reviews conducted internationally.
:Assist engagement teams across Canada that are involved in regulator reviews. This may involve being with the team during meetings with the regulators, assisting the team in researching and replying to queries, and bringing in other expert resources when necessary.
:Gain a deep understanding in a range of assurance topics and become a subject matter resource in a selected number of those, to support assurance practitioners across Canada
:Develop as well as participate or facilitate audit learning events in Canada.
:Assist the PPD in a number of local quality and risk management activities, which may include both special projects and ongoing activities.
:Develop deep knowledge of the audit methodology and audit quality which will provide an essential foundation for future roles within the audit practice. 13;

:Strong knowledge of the Deloitte Audit Approach. Knowledge of PCAOB Standards (including audits of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) and related US Accreditation are beneficial, but not required.
:Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials
:Must have CA designation or equivalency
:Minimum 5:7 years of relevant work experience on RI or RE engagements
