1 x Oracle VM consultant is required for a 6 month contract position in Valencia, Spain.

As an Oracle VM expert you will join an international IT organisation that remotely supports end clients in other geographical locations. This is an English speaking role and has the potential to extend well beyond the initial duration. Working hours will be 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, but will also include stand:by services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays and outside of normal working hours.

As part of the Virtual Server Infrastructure and Enterprise Backup team you will:
Assess the existing Oracle VM infrastructure; propose and implement recommendations and improvements Install, manage and support Oracle VM Server x86 environment. Install, manage and support Oracle VM Virtual Servers Implement configurations related to clusters, SAN, multipath, security and user/group administration. Perform regular patch updates. Identify and troubleshoot known problems and document solutions. Design, develop and maintain automation tools aiming at optimising the management of the Oracle VM Virtual Server Infrastructure. Document monitoring and maintenance procedures. Perform required tasks in maintenance windows. Perform other duties as required. Ideal candidates will have the following:
Expert knowledge of Oracle VM, implementing, managing and troubleshooting Oracle VM 3.3.X Experience in migrating of VM between different Oracle VM environments. Good knowledge of Xen, OCFS2 and Cluster Concepts. Good knowledge of Storage Area Networks, LAN, WAN and Internet technologies and protocols Good knowledge of Shell Scripting (Perl, bash, ) Knowledge of HP Server hardware Desirable knowledge of VMware and or Microsoft HyperV Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent English language skills. Ability to live and work in Valencia, Spain Have your own Limited company set up or be able to work via an umbrella or as a Spanish autonomo (freelancer) The closing date for applications is Tuesday 24th May so any interested candidates should apply to Quanta as soon as possible.
