The Project Safety Specialist will support the Safety Manager, Projects with the implementation, administration and continuous improvement of LPMP safety program. This will include technical and quality analysis of leading and lagging indicators, incident management, training, communications, contractor/subcontractor engagement and department/field personal performance.


:Systematically reinforce Enbridge Vision, Values, and Path to Zero Principles with internal stakeholders and external Contractors/subcontractors/suppliers and vendors.
:Promote the understanding and application of Enbridge leading indicator programs with internal stakeholders and external Contractors/subcontractors/suppliers/vendors.
:Provide support on all aspects of the Incident Management Standard; contribute to the development of the applicable lessons learned communication documents including distribution and, when required, verify of efficacy the lessons learned.
:Monitor the quality of safety information entered into Encompass by department/project personnel; provide weekly updates to the project Safety Manager and department supervisors.
:Assist project teams with the facilitation of internal/external safety audits/reviews and regulatory inspections; support project personnel with the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
:Support project level execution of contractor qualification and performance assessment processes (i.e. ISN).
:Promote the understanding and use of Human Factors and Risk Tolerance principles with internal stakeholders and external Contractors/subcontractors/suppliers/vendors.
:Maintain the seasonal safety awareness calendar and issue Enbridge branded communications as required.
:Participate on various internal and external committees, networks, and LPMP safety standard review committees as assigned; lead employee working groups to address complex health and safety challenges.
:Support development and delivery of health and safety leadership and technical training.
:Become an active participant in the Enbridge Emergency Response Incident Command System (ICS).
:Participate in Lifesaving Rule investigations when directed.
:Assist in the preparation of departmental weekly/ monthly/quarterly leadership reports.
:Provide weekly update reports.


:Degree/Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or related construction field and/or
:Registered Safety Professional designation or other Professional Board Certification.
:5:10 years of progressively responsible health and safety experience within the pipeline/facility or related heavy construction industry
:Minimum 5 years of industry related field experience is strongly desired (e.g. operator, tradesperson, craft inspector, supervisor, safety inspector)
:Proven interpersonal, communication and skills. Must have the ability to develop professional relationships across a broad spectrum of the organization (i.e. from workers in the field to project leadership to company executives).
