Want to push some pixels for one of Canadas largest brands?
We are seeking a talented, passionate, driven, creative individual to join our group of like:minded designers. Your thirst for quality work, current cultural trends, and all things creative is complimented with an understanding of good design principles and a focus on detail. We understand good typography, creative thinking, meaningful communication, the value of negative space and the importance of positive energy.
This digital role mixes web, mobile, ux, interactivity at events, branding, print support through strategic / innovative design thinking. Working independently and in a team environment to develop engaging, award winning multi:channel work for a variety of partners with local and national reach. The candidate has a thorough knowledge of branding and brand guidelines. They will champion a pre:existing set of standards as well as evolve a new set to serve the greater organization.
Our creative team carries the principles of a design studio/ad:agency but functions as an in:house design group (some would say the best of both worlds…). We offer an opportunity to learn from a group of mentors and Creative Directors in a variety of different mediums.
What were looking for…
The Future (Job Responsibilities):
:Working under the Creative Director within a heavily collaborative team of designers.
:A designer that leads print/motion/spatial/communications and brand consistency.
:Strong (Classic) design knowledge and skillset.
:Independently develop creative on all levels with an understanding of a variety of mediums. Today we are ideating a unique, national advertising campaign… tomorrow we are updating an entrance poster.
:Flourish while working independently or with a team and always bringing an eagerness to learn.
:Understand brand, brand standards (and maybe have built some in a previous life).
:Must possess a diverse background in design (no one:track ponies here).
The Past (Required Qualifications):
:Post:secondary degree or diploma in graphic design.
:5+ years experience within agency or have an agency caliber portfolio.
:Media savvy but communication/brand focused.
:Knowledge of industry leading trends, software, media, user experience.
:Excellent understanding of typography (if there is a widow or an orphan on your resume : its going in the trash).
:Ability to work under the pressure of tight timelines and creative challenges.
:Team player with ability to work well with creative direction while also being able to develop junior designers.
:Able to shift priorities, multi:task and complete projects as the work landscape shifts.
:Able to work collaboratively within a team.
:Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
:Cross:platform (web, tablet, video) design skills are an asset.
