Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one:of:a:kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long:lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan. You will review and approve bid details, commitments, and negotiations. Your oversight will ensure project subcontracting is consistent and that requirements have been implemented.
Major Responsibilities:
– Participates with the project team on a medium to large sized project in defining and developing the scope of Contracts work, and in preparing and coordinating Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets
– Prepares and/or directs preparation of commercial terms and conditions for use on project contract documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated
– Ensures in the development of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and the division of responsibility
– Coordinates Contract execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans and operations to ensure that input from these disciplines will enable Contracts to perform its functions in accordance with project plans
– Reviews evaluations with global business unit functional managers and the global business unit Manager of Supply Chain
– Manages the Subcontract for a contract of low to medium risk or complexity
– Provides functional direction and/or supervision to all assigned subcontracts personnel and monitors operations to ensure all activities are performed in accordance with project requirements and applicable directives, management instruction, procedures, and functional
