Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one:of:a:kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long:lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.
Job Summary:
The Office Field Engineer/Procedure Writer reports to the Project Field Engineer and/or the Lead Office Field Engineer. The position is responsible for writing, editing and proofreading construction documents that are part of deliverables to the Owner or project execution documents. The Office Field Engineer/Procedure Writer defines requirements and coordinates with Project Information Management Systems for development/use of construction automation tools and applications used during execution to collect data related to construction quantities, installation status, quality inspection metrics, etc.
Major Responsibilities:
– Support constructability reviews during the design process, part of the home office construction team.
– Assist with development of construction procedures, plans, methodology statements, risk management plans, and strategy documents.
– Work with the design teams to ensure requirements are incorporated into the design, layout and specifications.
– Writing, editing, and proofreading moderate to complex documents and other print and electronic media.
– Planning the format of a document, organizing content, editing text and graphics, and providing instructions for final reproduction.
– Recommending and coordinating document formatting and graphics design, resolving editorial and/or content issues and providing additional editorial support.
– Editing or rewriting draft documents. Ensuring that the material is structured and formatted logically, and inconsistencies are resolved.
